mini: Retrospection

“Looking back and "learning" from past work is the usual narrative, but the beauty in art, photography particularly, is seeing the potential in old shots we didn’t see before, and apply what we have learned between then and now to create something that matches our vision today.”

Moments.

Why do people take photos and videos of virtually every occurrence in their lives? Why do we criticise people recording these events, saying they should ‘live in the moment’? The pace and opportunity we have in life now to simply EXPERIENCE is nothing to what it was 20, 30. 50 years ago. Social media has normalised recording and sharing all our precious moments as a way of claiming, even identifying ourselves through such recorded moments. This post, amidst my little musings here and there, focuses on human memory v technical memory in possessing moments.
